FemSlam from Serbia organized 6 weekends full of soccer events and workshops on various topics, hosting LBT women from all over the Balkan region.
The workshops focused on topics such as intersectionality between sports and LGBTIQ activism, LBT (in)visibility and experiences of trans* people in sports.
FemSlam concludes that sports can be used as a tool for change, as well as to combat isolation and loneliness: ‘The project also gathered individuals who are fairly isolated (as individuals or teams) within their own communities and gave them the sense of belonging to the greater cause (it feels the same to us all the time when we gather with other sports-LGBTIQ groups).’
