Rella Women’s Foundation is an organization from Uganda that offers support to lesbian women, gender non-conforming people, and trans* persons.
Lesbian, gender non-conforming, and trans* people regularly face severe forms of discrimination and violence in Uganda. It is quite common for example that a landlord evicts people from their homes because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
With our funding, Rella Women’s Foundation opens ‘Rella House of Hope’. This is a shelter house for victims of discrimination and violence. Besides having a roof above their heads, Rella offers a broad range of additional services. These services aim to transform the lives of people while residing in the shelter. The total package makes sure residents recover quickly and have a new future upon leaving the house.
