The Mobile Foundation for Health Security and Rehabilitation (MHSR) is leading a crucial initiative to support vulnerable LGBTQI youth in Nigeria. Their “Responding To The Needs of Vulnerable LGBTQI Youths Through Safe Housing and Programming Initiative” provides safe housing, healthcare, vocational training, and psycho-social support to LGBTQI youth facing homelessness, stigma, and discrimination, particularly those living with HIV.
Started as a response to the severe challenges faced by LGBTQI youth in Nigeria, MHSR works to improve access to health services and human rights resources. Through a peer-led approach, the organization aims to create safe spaces for healing, support, and empowerment, allowing displaced youth to rebuild their lives with dignity and opportunity.
MHSR uses support to provide essential shelter, health services, and life skills training to LGBTQI youth in need. Through ongoing support, MHSR continues to offer therapeutic care, vocational education, and support for social reintegration, helping these young individuals gain independence and a better quality of life.
