The Kiambu United Strikers Group (KUSG) is a youth-led organization based in Kiambu County, Kenya. Founded by LGBTQI+ individuals, their project aims to combat misinformation and discrimination against the LGBTQI+ community. Through sports, cultural activities, and peer support, KUSG works to create a safe environment where LGBTQI+ individuals can connect, build confidence, and raise awareness about their rights.
Established in 2021, KUSG was formed in response to the increased stigma, discrimination, and violence faced by LGBTQI+ youth in their community. The organization’s vision is to provide a platform for marginalized individuals to share their stories, find support, and develop resilience in an accepting environment.
KUSG organizes weekly sports and cultural events such as basketball games, drag shows, and potlucks. These activities will foster a sense of belonging, improve mental and physical well-being, and raise awareness to reduce violence and discrimination against LGBTQI+ individuals in the region.
