Heart to Heart Lanka Organisation has gained a reputation within the LGBTIQ+ community in Sri Lanka as one of the most accessible and inclusive LGBTIQ+ safe spaces for members of all walks of life. Through organizing events, workshops, and trainings, they work towards improving the social health, development, and integration of underprivileged local individuals and groups in Sri Lanka.
With their project, Strengthen the Community by Organizing Cultural Events, the organisation seeks to build a sense of belonging for young people who have come out recently and in the process of coming out. Through community gatherings, queer film screenings, awareness seminars, mental health workshops, and cultural celebrations, Heart to Heart Lanka uses events to provide a platform for self-expression, education, and social support for individuals navigating their identities in a challenging environment. Through this, they hope to cultivate visibility and resilience for their community while advocating for legal and social change.
