Golden Women Initiative (GWI) is an LBQ women-led organization in Tanzania dedicated to supporting and empowering LBQ women. Their project, Come Out and Play, encourages inclusion through sports and physical activities, connecting LBQ women in a safe and supportive environment. Through football training, yoga sessions, and workshops, the project challenges stigma and promotes the well-being of LBQ women who are often excluded from sports due to their sexual orientation and gender identity.
GWI uses sports as a tool for empowerment, aiming to combat marginalization and create a sense of belonging within the community. Through the Come Out and Play project, the organization promotes physical and mental well-being by providing access to organized sports activities, training sessions, and workshops. Ultimately, this will help LBQ women gain confidence, develop their skills, and strengthen community bonds.
