‘Darna’ means ‘Our home’ in Tunisian. That’s how daily visitors perceive Mawjoudin’s social space in Tunisia.
The center is visited by 10 to 15 people on a daily basis and also provides office space to Mawjoudin’s staff members and other queer initiatives. Various workshops are held three times per month, as well as cultural events and many other activities.
The success of Mawjoudin’s social space inspired others to open a similar space in Bizerte, a town in the north of Tunisia.
