With our funding, NEXUS Youth Network established the Bhinneka Badminton Club in Semarang, Indonesia.
This enables the local community, most of them who are still in the closet, to come together to practice and play badminton. As one of the club members states: “…I’m happy now that I have a lot of friends. I used to be very lonely back in the days and never thought this would happen…” Currently, Bhinneka has 47 members.
In addition to the weekly trainings and a cup tournament, capacity building trainings were held on topics such as organizational skills, fundraising and project management. Read more about this project and its results.
