Amber Care and Right Development Initiative, based in Edo State, Nigeria, is leading the “Transcending Challenges: Empowering Trans Women for Inclusive Communities” project, aimed at improving the lives of transgender women, particularly those engaged in sex work and substance use. This initiative provides safe shelters, gender-affirming healthcare, mental health support, and legal advocacy to address the unique challenges they face.
Founded to address the severe discrimination and marginalization of transgender individuals in Nigeria, Amber Care Initiative works to promote inclusivity, health, and legal reform for the transgender community. Their main goals are to provide vital resources and foster societal acceptance to combat stigma and enhance well-being.
This project will establish shelters, equip transgender women with vocational skills, and offer long-term support to ensure safety and empowerment.
